How did you get into Pilates?
I am a dancer, rock climber, yogi and lover of movement. I started doing Pilates as cross training, but then realized how many goals it could achieve simultaneously. You can work on posture, focus on a strong core and healthy spine, or just work on having a nice, tight butt.
Why is Pilates your passion?
I see Pilates as a tool to help people feel confident and cozy in their bodies. Pilates helped me recover from an injury. It is rehab for the body and mind.
Why did you become an instructor?
I can’t think of anything that makes me happier, than when I see my students getting the results they want.
What makes your class sweaty?
I infuse my pilates class with athleticism. I make sure to connect to each student in class. Sometimes you only have one hour to work out, so I layer in challenges to make sure you aren’t phoning it in for yourself. Progress makes perfect.
Why do you love teaching at NYP?
The good vibes. I love everything NYP stands for. The caliber of the teachers and community is what brought me here, as a creative and caring teacher.
