How did you get into Pilates?
My first winter in New York was depressingly cold, so I signed up for a Pilates class and, unexpectedly, fell in love with the method.
Why do you love Pilates?
I started doing Pilates as a lawyer and it taught me that I didn’t have to live with a body that was inflexible and in pain. I love that Pilates is a way to heal, a moving meditation, and a great workout.
Why did you become an instructor?
I loved Pilates so much I wanted to learn everything about it, so I left my job to pursue Pilates full-time.
What makes your class special?
I care about my students — it matters how they are moving, which muscles they use, but also how they feel. My hope is that they leave class taller and happier.
Why do you love teaching at New York Pilates?
NYP aligns with my style, which is anatomical yet fearlessly creative.
How long have you been an instructor?
Since April 2016
Do you prefer fitness or technical classes?
I prefer fitness classes, but I like to emphasize technique in a fitness class. Working with good form is the most efficient way to change your body.
