How did you get into Pilates?
I was an athlete and kept injuring myself over and over again. Pilates was tough for me at first because it is so controlled but I eventually learned how to apply the strength and technique to my body and my practice.
Why do you love Pilates?
Because there’s no bias- you can be any age or have any injury and still strengthen your body. Pilates does not discriminate.
Why did you become an instructor?
I moved to NY and worked in fashion for 10 years. It wasn’t what I wanted to do. I wanted to do more and help other people.
What makes your class special?
I offer an athletic and playful side to Pilates. In my class, it’s about progression not perfection. As long as you’re improving from the class before and having fun, that’s what matters.
Why do you love teaching at New York Pilates?
The energy at NYP sets the tone for the type of environment that I like to be in. It’s playful, fun, and above all- it’s Pilates.
How long have you been an instructor?
Since September 2016
Do you prefer fitness or technical classes?
Fitness. I mean I like technical classes, but in terms of teaching, fitness for sure.
