A studio guide from New York Pilates · October 13, 2026
Pink reformers on Howard Street. A light-filled studio on Bowery. Arched windows on West Houston. Three places to make Pilates part of your downtown week.
Finding your favorite Pilates studio is a little like finding your favorite coffee shop. The address matters, of course. But so does how the room feels, who remembers your name, and whether the trip fits naturally into your day.
In SoHo, a class can sit between a morning coffee and an afternoon appointment, or become the one plan you keep after work. The right studio gives you a reason to return. That might be a teacher whose cues click, a room you look forward to stepping into, or a class time that makes consistency feel possible.
This is our New York Pilates guide to the best fit for that routine. Our SoHo studio is on Howard Street; Bowery and West Village are nearby alternatives with their own settings. All three offer our 45-minute Abs Arms Ass™ group reformer class. Start with the studio that appeals to you, then check its teachers and available times.
1. New York Pilates SoHo
For a Pilates routine that starts in SoHo.
25 Howard Street · 3rd Floor · SoHo
Inside the SoHo studio · Directions

Howard Street is where we would start. Upstairs, pink reformers and tall windows give New York Pilates SoHo its unmistakable setting. It is a place to put your phone away, settle onto the carriage, and let the next 45 minutes belong to class.
The workout is Abs Arms Ass™: controlled movement, spring resistance, and a teacher guiding you through the work. If you are new, tell your instructor before class. Modifications and progressions let beginners and experienced students share the room while adjusting the exercises to their experience.
SoHo is our pick when your day is already happening around Howard, Canal, or Broadway. Choose a teacher and a time you can return to, then build the rest of your plans around it. You do not need to turn class into an elaborate downtown itinerary—but it is nice to have options afterward.

On the schedule: Claire Lukasiewicz and Luisa Figuera.
After class: coffee, matcha, and a little SoHo time
Head to La Colombe on Lafayette Street for coffee, or continue through SoHo to Matchaful on Prince Street. For a bite, Maman on Centre Street is another stop to build into the day. Check current hours before visiting.
2. New York Pilates Bowery
For days that take you toward Nolita.
262 Bowery · 2nd Floor · Nearby Bowery
Inside the Bowery studio · Directions

If your SoHo day tends to drift toward Prince and Elizabeth Streets, put Bowery on your list. The second-floor studio at 262 Bowery opens onto a light-filled lobby with an arched window and plants. It offers another setting for the same signature class.
Choose Bowery for the combination of location and teacher. Carly Baron and Melissa Bartow are two names to look for in the schedule. Try different instructors as you settle into a routine; the person guiding class can be as much of a reason to come back as the room itself.
Bowery is outside SoHo, so compare the trip from your actual starting point. It makes most sense when you are already on the neighborhood’s eastern side or have plans around Nolita before or after class.

After class: a stop on Mulberry Street
Café Leon Dore at 214 Mulberry and Matchaful at 217 Mulberry give you a coffee-or-matcha choice on the same street. If you want lunch instead, The Butcher’s Daughter on Kenmare is another local option. Check current hours.
3. New York Pilates West Village
For a day that continues west.
124 W Houston Street · Ground Floor · Nearby West Village
Inside the West Village studio · Directions

Some days, the best class is the one that puts you closer to what comes next. If you are heading west from SoHo, our West Village studio on West Houston gives you another place to make Pilates part of the plan.
The ground-floor room has three arched windows overlooking its reformers. It is a different scene from Howard Street, with the same 45-minute Abs Arms Ass™ class at its center. Anna Severson and Anna Levy are two teachers to look for as you compare available times.
This is our nearby west-side alternative, rather than a studio inside SoHo. Look at the route alongside your other plans: the right choice may be the one you can visit without rearranging the whole day.

After class: coffee in Hudson Square or matcha in the Village
Maman King at 375 Hudson is an option if you are continuing into Hudson Square. Matchaful at 87 Christopher takes you farther into the Village. Pick the direction that fits your day and check current hours.
