Frequently asked questions
How many hours can I work a week?
What is the salary range for Pilates teachers?
Do you have on-going education?
What is the best way to prepare to audition at New York Pilates?
To prepare for your audition at New York Pilates take as many classes as possible to get a feel for the unique NYP method. Be prepared by planning your class, be ready to get on the mic, say student names, give hands on adjustments, modifications & advancements, spring tension options and be a general ray of sunshine. We value warmth & friendliness as much technique. We want all students to feel welcome, accommodated & challenged. Good luck!!
How does subbing work?
Do I have to create playlists for classes?
Nope! Our music is pre curated by cofounder & DJ Brion Isaacs, so there is no need to create playlists!
I want to teach in the Hamptons too, how can I do that?
Yes! We always are open for instructors to teach in the Hamptons, this is determined by the needs of the Hamptons and at your manager’s discretion.
Tell me about your work/life balance at NYP?
Our schedules are in blocks of 3-5 hours and are consistent week over week so you can plan your life & your finances.
We also have a culture of subbing so you can take time off when you need to, and will be asked to lean in for others to do the same.
How does the schedule work?
We build out block schedules for each studio. Either a Monday-Thursday (morning block or evening block) or Friday-Sunday (morning, midday or evening blocks). Instructors teach in blocks of 3-5 classes that are scheduled consistently week over week.
Can I teach Privates?
Privates are not on our live schedule. If a client asks for a private and you are available to teach your manager will reach out to you to ask to schedule you at the time.
